GRADING REPORT
Most people had arrived at the new grading venue in Wandsworth by just after 12.30pm, so the the registration process was started. Licences were checked and everyone was asked to fill in their Grading Sheets. Arthur Austin headed the panel and the grading formally started at about 13.15pm, with all candidates demonstrating foot and hand movements.
The grading ran smoothly with each of the three examiners, Arthur Austin, Robert Austin & Adrian Tyndale having a batch of candidates to look at and record each technique. Arthur reassured those taking part, which helped them to settle. As there were three brown belts attempting Dan grade, it was decided run some of the high grade katas first.
At the end of the grading Arthur summariesd his view of the day’s performances, as a general comment. It was a good grading and to a good standard and all candidates were successful. The new grades were announced and congratulations given in the form of applause. A commemorative photo was taken and the BAA Licences were all signed and returned to the candidates. Well done to the new 1st Dan black belts, Derek Bradley, Patrick Prescod and Martin Dean
Overall a successful grading with candidates and examiners being happy with the new venue. The next grading will be at Wandsworth on 30th November, 2008, full details are published on the website events calendar.
