GRADING REPORT
The day started with a morning class at the Worcester Park Dojo. Seven students attended and they practised for the final time before the grading. The class ended just before midday to allow a short break and a snack lunch.
Everyone had arrived by 12.00pm, and the registration process was started. Licences were checked and everyone was asked to fill in their Grading Sheets. Adrian Tyndale headed the panel and the grading formally started, with all eleven candidates warming up and demonstrating foot and hand movements. The number in attendance was the smallest for sometime.
The grading ran smoothly with each of the three examiners, Harvey Goodman 6th Dan, Arthur Austin 5th Dan & Adrian Tyndale 5th Dan having a batch of candidates to look at and record each technique. The panel reassured those taking part, which helped them to settle. No students were attempting Dan grade and two junior grades were grading to senior.
At the end of the grading the examiners summarised their view of the day’s performances, as a general comment. It was a fair grading with no unsuccessful candidates. The new grades were announced and congratulations given in the form of applause. At the end a commemorative photo was taken and the BAA Licences were all signed and returned to the candidates. Well done to all. Our thanks were expressed to Harvey Goodman for his help with the panel. It was noted that the number of candidates taking the grading was an all time low.
