GRADING REPORT
The day started with a morning class at the Worcester Park Dojo. They practised for the final time before the grading. The class ended just before midday to allow a short break and a snack lunch.
Everyone had arrived by 12.00noon, and the registration process was completed. Licences were checked and everyone was asked to fill in their Grading Sheets. Adrian Tyndale headed the panel and the grading formally started, with all 5 candidates warming up and demonstrating foot and hand movements. The number in attendance was the smallest todate.
The grading ran smoothly with each of the three examiners, Richard Todd 4th Dan, James Austin 4th Dan & Adrian Tyndale 5th Dan having a batch of candidates to look at and record each technique. The panel reassured those taking part, which helped them to settle. One student was attempting Dan grade and no junior grades were grading to senior.
At the end of the grading the examiners summarised their view of the day’s performances, as a general comment. More work is needed on balance breaking in some cases. It was a good grading with no unsuccessful candidates. The new grades were announced and congratulations given in the form of applause. At the end a commemorative photo was taken and the BAA Licences were all signed and returned to the candidates. Well done to all and especially to the successful Dan grade, Vincent Guerineau. Unfortunately with the low attendance the Grading made a financial loss.
