POSITIVE HANDLING” CLASSES

POSITIVE HANDING - For parents and carers of children & young people with special needs

This is a daytime course for parents and carers of children & young people with special needs. The course uses Aikido principles in the positive handling of physically challenging behaviour.

The student will be learning about movement, balance, posture, interaction, and avoidance skills. The aim is to increase confidence and effectiveness by promoting and maintaining an “inner-calm”. This will stimulate improved management and manipulation of potentially problematic situations. Sometimes where diffusion skills are not sufficient, the application of positive handling techniques can help.
