GRADING REPORT
The day started with a morning class at the New Malden Dojo. Thirteen students attended and they practised for the final time before the grading. The class ended at 12noon and we all travelled over to Wandsworth on what was a wet and miserable day. Most people had arrived at the grading venue in Wandsworth by just after 1.30pm, so the the registration process was started. Licences were checked and everyone was asked to fill in their Grading Sheets. Arthur Austin headed the panel and the grading formally started at 14.00pm, with all candidates demonstrating foot and hand movements.
The grading ran smoothly with each of the three examiners, Arthur Austin, Robert Austin & Adrian Tyndale having a batch of candidates to look at and record each technique. The panel reassured those taking part, which helped them to settle. No students were attempting Dan grade and 1 junior grade was intending to cross over to senior.
At the end of the grading the examiners summariesd their view of the day’s performances, as a general comment. It was a good grading and all candidates were successful. The new grades were announced and congratulations given in the form of applause. At the end a BAA & JAA Dan grade Certificate was presented to previously graded student, Tony Blake. Unfortunately not all students were available so the remaining certificate will be presented at the end of the next grading in May, 2010. A commemorative photo was taken and the BAA Licences were all signed and returned to the candidates. Well done to all.
The next grading will be again at Wandsworth on 16th May, 2010, full details are published on the website events calendar.
